RASC News Agency: Given the escalating number of criminal activities across various provinces in the country, the Kunduz security command of the Taliban recently made an announcement regarding the arrest of 660 individuals involved in numerous criminal offenses within the province. The security command confirmed that investigations into these individuals are currently underway. Jomauddin Khaksar, the spokesperson for the Taliban group’s security command in Kunduz, shared this information with the media on Saturday, November 18th. He also disclosed that among those apprehended, there are individuals associated with the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan.
Mr. Khaksar emphasized that these arrests were made due to the involvement of these individuals in a wide range of crimes, including bribery, robbery, murder, moral corruption, arms smuggling, as well as the sale and smuggling of drugs and alcoholic beverages throughout the province.
Furthermore, Mr. Khaksar reported that a total of 33,285 grams of illicit substances, including heroin, methamphetamine, hashish, and opium, were seized from these individuals. Additionally, 24 weapons were confiscated from those affiliated with the National Resistance Front. This information contradicts the previous claims made by the Taliban, which had announced the arrest of over 500 individuals in Samangan and Kabul provinces due to their involvement in various criminal activities within those regions.
It is important to highlight that human rights organizations have criticized these arrests, deeming them arbitrary and illegal. Concerns have been raised regarding the treatment and potential torture endured by these detainees in the custody of the Taliban. The lack of transparency surrounding their conditions further adds to the apprehension expressed by these organizations. since the Taliban assumed control of the Afghanistan government, the country has witnessed a significant surge in mysterious and targeted killings, as well as armed robberies. These incidents have reached an unprecedented level, with a considerable number of citizens attributing these acts to individuals affiliated with the Taliban group.
