RASC News Agency: Local sources from Kunduz province have reported that a member of the Taliban group forcibly married two sisters to his brother in one night. The incident took place in the “Bagh Shirkat” area of Kunduz provincial center almost a week ago. According to the sources, the brother of the Taliban member had recently returned from abroad and had married his fiance. However, he divorced her on the pretext of her not having a hymen on their wedding night. This led to the forced marriage of the two sisters to him by his brother, Qari Basir.

The sources identified the Taliban member as Qari Basir, who forcibly entered his brother’s in-law’s house at 2:00 o’clock in the morning and married the second daughter of the family to his brother. The two girls were married by another member of the Taliban group named Mawlawi Faizuddin, who reportedly works within the Taliban system in Balkh province.

This incident has sparked outrage among the local community, yet the authorities of the Taliban group in Kunduz province have not yet issued any comments regarding the matter. This is not the first time that members of the Taliban group have been accused of violent behaviors against Afghanistani citizens. Reports of rape, forced marriages, and polygamy involving officials and prominent members of the group have been published in different provinces of the country since they took over. This incident underscores the urgent need for action to protect the rights of women and girls in Afghanistan.
