RASC News Agency: Local authorities of the Taliban group in Herat and Ghor provinces have recently announced that cash and food supplies have been distributed to more than 2,450 affected and needy families in these provinces.
According to a newsletter released by the Taliban Information and Culture Department in Herat province on Tuesday, November 14th, the Afghanistan Red Crescent Society and the King Salman Foundation have distributed food supplies to 1,700 earthquake-affected families in the Andkhoy district of the province.
Furthermore, local authorities of the Taliban group in Teyora district of Ghor province have confirmed that cash has been distributed to 750 destitute families in the district by the Action Aid organization. According to the Taliban authorities in Ghor province, in this aid distribution program, each family received a cash amount of 7,306 Kabuli Rupees.
Meanwhile, the affected and needy families in Ghor province say that the distribution of these kinds of aids is not enough for these families, given the upcoming winter, and they have requested relief agencies to increase their assistance to poor and homeless families.
This comes as some relief agencies had previously warned that due to budget cuts and an increase in the number of people in need of humanitarian assistance in Afghanistan, the aid from these organizations has decreased.
It should be noted that the United Nations had previously announced that it needs a budget of 400 million dollars to provide assistance to needy families in Afghanistan, especially in remote and vulnerable areas where their transportation routes are blocked or restricted during the winter season.
