RASC News Agency: Naqibullah Dehqanzada, the head of the Afghanistan consulate in the city of “Kharua” in Tajikistan, recently stated that the consulate operates “directly under the support and guidance” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban group. This statement came after Zahir Aghbar, the ambassador nominated by the previous government in the embassy, tore up the letter of appointment of an individual who appeared as the first secretary of the Taliban group in front of the media cameras on November 9th. Aghbar added that until the establishment of a legitimate government in Afghanistan, the Taliban group lacks any kind of legitimacy with them.
On social media, a video tape dated Thursday, November 9th, showcased Mr. Dehqanzada’s statements regarding Zahir Aghbar’s statement about the inactivity of this consulate, which were deemed irresponsible and devoid of truth by Hafiz Zia Ahmad, Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban group.
Ahmad stated that the consulate has continued to operate and provide consular services to Afghanistani citizens in coordination with the departments and authorities of Tajikistan after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and the fall of the republican regime.
It is important to note that although more than two years have passed since the Taliban took over the country, this group has not yet been recognized by any country in the world and lacks international legitimacy. The world’s conditions for the official recognition of the Taliban include forming an inclusive government, respecting the rights of women and minorities, and fighting against terrorist groups.
Despite this, a large number of embassies and consulates in Afghanistan still continue to operate under the title “Representation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” and do not take orders from the Taliban.
