RASC News Agency: Anwaar ul Haq Kakar, the interim Prime Minister of Pakistan, has asserted that the presence of the Taliban group in Afghanistan is the reason behind a 60% increase in terrorist incidents in Pakistan. During a press conference on November 8th, Kakar expressed Pakistan’s hope that the establishment of the Taliban group in Afghanistan would prevent the use of Afghanistan land for terrorist activities in Pakistan.
However, since the Taliban group took control in Afghanistan, there has been a significant rise in terrorist incidents, including a 500% increase in suicide attacks. These attacks have resulted in the deaths of 2,267 Pakistani citizens over the past two years, for which the Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is held responsible.
Kakar further revealed that among those involved in suicide attacks, 15 were Afghanistani citizens, and 64 Afghanistani citizens lost their lives in the fight against terrorism. Moreover, Pakistani officials had previously claimed that Afghanistani refugees were responsible for the suicide attacks in Pakistan. In response, the Taliban group has refuted these allegations, accusing the Pakistani government of using them as a pretext to expel Afghanistani asylum seekers from the country.
It is worth noting that nearly 200,000 Afghanistani asylum seekers have been forcibly expelled from Pakistan and returned to Afghanistan following the deadline set by the Pakistani government. Despite these efforts, Pakistan continues to experience a series of terrorist attacks, resulting in significant casualties. The situation remains complex and challenging, with the presence of the Taliban group in Afghanistan posing a significant threat to the security and stability of both countries.
