RASC News Agency: The relatives of Rasoul Parsi, a university professor, have announced that they will approach the Supreme Court of the Taliban group to seek a reduction in his sentence. Parsi was sentenced to 16 months in prison on charges of preaching against the Taliban regime and blasphemy. On November 7th, Parsi conveyed a message from inside the Taliban prison, confirming the final decision of the Taliban court. He also described freedom as a disgrace to the history of humankind.
Moreover, while in the custody of the Taliban group, Parsi wrote a dedication in a section of his book, “The Story Book of Char Gerd Qala Gashtam,” by Rahnaward Zaryab. The dedication is addressed to the “Rudabas of the Land of Khurshid.” From this writing, it can be inferred that the term “Rudabah,” used by the university professor, refers to a female protester of Afghanistan. He refers to the “Land of the Sun” or Khorasan, which historically represents a significant part of Afghanistan.
It is worth mentioning that Mr. Parsi was apprehended by the intelligence unit of the Taliban group last winter, following the arrests of several education and civil activists. For a long time, there was no information regarding his fate or whereabouts.
Nahzatullah Radfar, the lawyer representing the university professor, had previously stated that Parsi was sentenced to 12 months in prison by the Taliban group’s court for insulting the group’s system. Additionally, he received a sentence of 124 months on the charge of blasphemy.
