RASC News Agency: Multiple sources have reported a traffic incident on the Kabul-Kandahar highway, resulting in the loss of two lives and injuries to 17 others. The incident transpired on Sunday morning, specifically on October 29th, when a 304 model passenger car overturned in Zabul province’s Shahar-e-Safa district.

The aftermath of this incident has left two individuals deceased, while 17 others have suffered injuries, two of which are in critical condition. This incident is not an isolated occurrence; the country has witnessed numerous traffic mishaps leading to fatalities, injuries, and disabilities across various provinces and highways.

Significantly, the sources have offered comprehensive information regarding the exact location, date, and vehicle type involved in this incident. The scale of casualties and injuries reported indicates the severity of the situation. Consequently, it underscores the urgent need for enhanced road safety measures and the strict enforcement of traffic regulations to prevent future recurrences of such events.

In the most recent case, a series of traffic incidents in Ghazni and Paktika provinces claimed the lives of more than 10 individuals, leaving several others injured. These incidents, as observed in most cases, are primarily caused by drivers’ recklessness, road damage, speeding, disregard for traffic rules, and a lack of familiarity with certain routes. Experts contend that these factors greatly contribute to the occurrence of traffic incidents.

Furthermore, the occurrence of prolonged conflicts over several decades, coupled with the subsequent destruction of roads and the negligence of officials regarding their reconstruction, also plays a pivotal role in the prevalence of such incidents. Non-standard construction of roads, overcrowding during commutes, and improper loading by drivers are additional factors that occasionally contribute to these accidents. Addressing these issues in a comprehensive manner is of utmost importance to reduce the frequency of such incidents and ensure the safety of all individuals on the road.
