RASC News Agency: In relation to the global aid provided for the recent earthquakes in Herat province, the foreign ministry of the Taliban group has recently announced that a donation of 50,000 dollars has been made by China to support the victims of these earthquakes in Herat province.

On Monday, October 23, Hafiz Zia, the Deputy Spokesman of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Taliban group, shared on the “X” social media platform a statement from Mr. Zhao Xing, the Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan, regarding China’s assistance to the victims of the Herat earthquake.

Furthermore, the foreign ministry of the Taliban group expressed that the Chinese aid for the victims of the Herat earthquake will be delivered to them in the near future. The group also expressed gratitude for the sympathy and assistance provided by the Chinese people, highlighting the positive relations between the two countries.

In the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Herat province, various countries across the globe have pledged financial assistance and supplies to aid the victims. Notably, the Chinese embassy has promptly announced a cash aid of 200,000 US dollars, which has been entrusted to the Taliban group for distribution among the affected individuals. Simultaneously, prior to this, several other nations had also come forward to extend their support by providing monetary aid and essential resources.

It is crucial to highlight that the recent seismic activities in the western region of the country have resulted in numerous casualties and significant economic losses for the residents of Herat province. The gravity of the situation necessitates immediate and substantial assistance to alleviate the suffering of the affected population.

However, the World Food Program has encountered a pressing challenge in the form of insufficient funds to effectively aid the victims of the recent earthquake. Despite their efforts to provide assistance to 95,000 individuals, the organization’s financial resources are depleting rapidly. This predicament underscores the urgent need for additional financial contributions to sustain the relief efforts and address the dire circumstances faced by the victims.

It is important to underscore that the seismic event with a magnitude of 6.3, occurring on October 7, resulted in the shaking of various areas within Herat province. The districts of Zinda Jan, Jibrail, and Karukh were particularly affected, experiencing the most significant damage as a consequence of this earthquake.
