RASC News Agency: Continuing their ongoing efforts to provide humanitarian aid in various provinces of the country, local officials of the Taliban group in Herat have recently announced the successful assistance of 3,890 vulnerable families through the World Food Program.
On October 18th, the Department of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of the Taliban group in Herat reported that 2,197 families in the Guzara district received cash assistance. Each family was provided with 3,200 Kabuli rupees, the national currency.
Additionally, the directorate mentioned that 1,693 families in the Kashk-e-Kohna district were supplied with essential food items such as flour, oil, and salt.
It is worth noting that international relief organizations have consistently offered both monetary and non-monetary aid to the people of Afghanistan, aiming to provide as much assistance as possible. However, despite these efforts, the poverty rate in Afghanistan has significantly increased during the two years of Taliban rule, placing numerous individuals in an extremely precarious economic situation.
Furthermore, it is crucial to highlight the commitment of numerous countries around the globe to deliver relief packages to support those affected by recent events. These nations have expressed their intention to channel their aid packages to Afghanistan and entrust the Taliban authorities with their efficient distribution to the impacted victims. Notably, Japan has emerged as one of the latest contributors and has announced an emergency assistance package valued at $4.1 million. Moreover, Japan has reaffirmed its dedication to extending further humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan.
