RASC News Agency: as reported unveils the grim reality of Afghanistan under their rule. On the 7th of October, Sultan Ali Jawadi, the manager, along with Mojtaba Qasemi and Saifullah Rezaei, acting as journalists, were summoned by the Taliban’s intelligence department. Subsequently, they were transferred to prison, leaving their family members gripped with concern about their well-being.
The Taliban’s audacious actions betray a disturbing pattern of silencing voices that dare to speak against their regime. These individuals were initially detained by the Taliban for their alleged participation in the “destruction of the government system,” despite the fact that Radio Nasim’s communication devices had already been confiscated. The resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan has precipitated a lamentable erosion of freedom of expression and a shroud of fear has engulfed journalists, prompting many to flee the country in search of safety.
However, the Taliban’s draconian approach extends beyond suppressing the freedom of speech; it permeates every aspect of Afghanistani society. Dictated by Hebatullah Akhundzada, the Taliban group has forcefully shuttered educational institutions, effectively denying Afghanistani women and girls access to universities and schools. Moreover, several months ago, this group forbade the operation of beauty parlors for women and girls, amplifying their stranglehold on gender equality.
The consequences of such oppressive measures are dire. Afghanistani women and girls find themselves confined within the walls of their own homes, enveloped in a state of involuntary imprisonment. Regrettably, Afghanistan now stands as the sole nation in the world where women and girls are denied their fundamental rights and stripped of their essential needs. The restoration of basic human rights, freedom of expression, and gender equality, therefore, remains a distant dream, obscured by the resurgent shadow of the Taliban.
