RASC News Agency:As per reportes Hannah Newman, a representative of the European Parliament, has described the current situation in Afghanistan under Taliban control as catastrophic. Mrs. Newman emphasized the severe restrictions that the Taliban have imposed on the lives of Afghanistani citizens, particularly women and former government employees. Despite two years having passed since the Taliban took control, they have failed to uphold their commitments to human rights. Mrs. Newman stressed the importance of continuing to focus attention on the situation in Afghanistan, even as media coverage shifts. She highlighted the ongoing threats faced by former government employees and the limitations on women’s freedom of movement. Furthermore, she noted that the Taliban have replaced schools with Jihadi schools, exacerbating the already dire situation.

The representative has called for the launch of a petition by the European Parliament to recognize gender apartheid as a crime under international law, highlighting the urgent need for action. Additionally, she stressed the importance of ensuring that human rights defenders facing threats are granted visas to leave Afghanistan promptly.

Mrs. Newman has previously warned that the Taliban is actively seeking to capture Afghanistani women and girls to raise a new generation of Jihadi fighters. She cautioned against considering any form of recognition for the Taliban.

European countries have unequivocally condemned the oppressive restrictions imposed by the Taliban on Afghanistani women, girls, and former government employees. They have once again called on the group to halt their ongoing human rights violations against the people of Afghanistan.
