RASC News Agency: A former soldier of the Ministry of Interior of the previous government was shot and killed by a Taliban group member in Paktika Province, according to local reports.

On Tuesday October 3, sources told the media that a former government soldier was killed by a motorcycle-riding Taliban group in Jalalzai Village, Janikhel District, Paktia Province.

According to the sources, this soldier of the former government was named Abdul Alim, and the members of the Taliban group shot him in front of the gate of his house.

According to sources, this former police officer lost both his eyes in an explosion before the rule of the Taliban regime.

According to sources, at least 12 members of Abdul Alim’s family, who were soldiers of the previous government, were killed as a result of clashes with the Taliban group.

The sources further stated that Abdul Alim’s extended family members, the majority of whom had served in the previous government, had fled to Iran following the takeover of the country by the Taliban, however, this ex-serviceman resides in the country.

According to sources, this former soldier was responsible for a family of 30 people, most of whom are “widow” women and orphaned children.

Despite the announcement of an amnesty by the Taliban leader attributed to the group, the arrests, tortures, and, in some cases, killings of former government soldiers have continued.
