The fifth meeting of “Format Moscow” is scheduled to be held this weekend in the city of Kazan, Russia.
Amir Khan Motaqi, the foreign minister of the Taliban group, is participating in this meeting at the head of a delegation at the invitation of Russia.
Russia’s special representative for Afghanistan has said that the meeting will focus on the creation of a comprehensive government in Afghanistan, and the recognition of the Taliban group will not be discussed.
It seems that political groups opposed to the Taliban have not been invited to this meeting.
