RASC News Agency: Afghanistani immigrants in Iran complain about the worse living conditions. These refugees say that they are facing challenges such as extending their stay, accessing banking; telecommunications, health and educational services, and they may be forced out of this country at any moment.
According to reports, “anti-Afghanistanim” has increased in Iran this year and Afghanistani refugees have faced bad behavior and treatment from some Iranians. These asylum seekers say they have to pay bribes to extend their stay and they are treated insultingly and even beaten by the police.
Refugees living in Iran country are also worried about the unknown future of their children in this country. They say that their children are denied the right to education because they do not have the necessary documents. The United Nations has announced that about 3.9 million Afghanistani refugees live in Iran, of which only 780,000 are registered.
However, the Iranian government has threatened to change its policy towards asylum seekers if it does not receive more aid from the United Nations. According to reports, some Iranian officials have asked Afghanistani refugees to leave Iran as massive.
On the other hand, a number of Iranians have demanded the deportation of Afghanistani refugees on social networks. They blame asylum seekers for the increase in unemployment and high prices in Iran. Nevertheless, experts believe that the main reasons for Iran’s economic challenges are sanctions and mismanagement, and it has nothing to do with the presence of asylum seekers in this country.
Despite this, Afghanistnai refugees are still facing many challenges and restrictions in Iran and are worried about an uncertain future for themselves and their children.
At the same time, with the resurgence of the Taliban group in Afghanistan, the migration of the people of this country to neighboring countries has increased, and they have cited unemployment and poverty as the reason for this migration.
