RASC News Agency: Hamid Karzai, the former president of the country, and Thomas West, the special representative of the United States of America for Afghanistan affairs, discussed the recent developments in Afghanistan.
In this dialogue, which was conducted in the form of video, they emphasized the necessity of “inter-Afghanistan dialogue” to achieve permanent peace and stability in Afghanistan.
Karzai announced this conversation in an article on X social media on (Friday, September 15) and said that both sides hope that the ground for such an understanding will be provided soon.
According to Mr. Karzai, in this conversation, they also discussed the economic situation of Afghanistan and mentioned the necessary assistance to farmers in the field of irrigation and alternative livelihood as an important matter.
The former president of the country added that in this conversation, the role and importance of education of girls and boys for the economic growth and bright future of Afghanistan was also emphasized.
Mr. Karzai has stated that in this conversation, he asked America to cooperate in order to provide education to the youth of Afghanistan.
This is despite the fact that the Taliban group has violated the rights of Afghanistani women and girls since they regained control of Afghanistan, and they have banned girls above the sixth grade from going to school and have blocked the gates of universities to female students.
Mr. Karzai is one of the critics of this decision of the Taliban group and has repeatedly asked this group to reopen educational centers for girls.
