RASC News Agency: A book exhibition entitled (Art Book Exhibition) was held by the students of Balkh University Journalism School in Mazar-Sharif, the center of Balkh province, without the presence of female students. This exhibition was launched for three days in the courtyard of the new building of Balkh University, and its purpose is to encourage and promote the culture of reading and reading among students.

Sikander Mohinyar, the head of Balkh University’s School of Journalism, says that this exhibition is open to the public with the slogan (A nation that does not read books should experience the whole of history). In this exhibition, more than 200 book titles are displayed in different sections so that male students can visit it, but female students are not allowed to enter.

A number of students who participated in this exhibition say that launching such motivational programs can be effective in encouraging students and young people to study. On the other hand, some other students and young people who have visited this exhibition criticized the banning of female students to the university and called this act a disgrace for the university.

They say that the students of Balkh University, who are  continuing for their studies, are not deprived of learning knowledge, but also prevented entering such programs, which is against moral values. These students, who are worried about the deprivation and unknown fate of their fellow students, stressed that female students should have been allowed to enter this book exhibition.

It should be mentioned that the Taliban group after dominating Afghanistan, along with other prohibitions and restrictions on women and girls, still deprived them of education.
