RASC News Agency: The US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) has announced in its new report that the religious freedom of all Afghanistanis has been restricted by the Taliban group.

This institution has written in a report published on Wednesday, August 30 under the title “Religious Freedom and Women’s Rights in Afghanistan” that the conditions of religious freedom in Afghanistan have been severely deteriorating in the two years since the Taliban regained control of the country.

The American Commission on International Religious Freedom said in its report: “The Taliban group has restricted the religious freedom of all Afghanistanis, including those who have different interpretations of Islam, with a series of premeditated decrees, but these restrictions disproportionately affect women. It has made an impact.”

Based on this report, the officials of the Taliban group seek to highlight the interpretation of “Sunni Islam” in the structure of their regime.

According to the report of this organization, the implementation of these rulings has affected Afghanistani women and girls and religious minorities, and the ban on education, employment, and freedom of movement are among the consequences of these rulings.

In its annual report, this institution asked the US Department of State to introduce Afghanistan as a country where there has been a systematic, continuous and gross violation of religious freedom.

The Taliban group has imposed many restrictions against religious minorities in the country after regaining control of Afghanistan.

Among the limitations of this group against Shia religious group in Afghanistan were the non-attendance of women in Hosseini’s Ashura ceremony and the designation of a specific place.

It should be noted that the Taliban group has faced widespread criticism from international institutions before this because of not giving religious freedom to the country’s citizens, especially the religious minorities.
