RASC News Agency: The local authorities of the Taliban group in Balkh province in the north of the country announced that as a result of the operation of the Taliban group in this province, 10 people were arrested on charges of drug smuggling and selling.

In a newsletter published today Wednesday (August 30) by the Taliban group’s police command for Balkh province, it is stated that the Taliban group has arrested these people from Balkh province.

Local sources in Balkh province confirmed that 12 kilograms of opium, 11 kilograms of marijuana, 40 tablets of (K), 200 grams of methamphetamine and six mobile phones were obtained from these people.

It should be mentioned that before this, a number of drug smugglers and sellers were arrested in Balkh province.

Although the Taliban group claims that they are fighting against the groups that engage in illegal activities, but according to the published reports, the activities of this group have failed.

Cultivation, production and smuggling of narcotics have increased under the shadow of the Taliban regime, and based on information from local sources, narcotics have been cultivated freely in a number of villages in Balkh province.

It should be noted that not only the phenomenon of drug trafficking takes place in Balkh province, but also the number of people addicted to this phenomenon is increasing day by day, and the Taliban forcibly arrest them and transfer them to drug addiction treatment centers.

According to international laws, the cultivation, production and trafficking of drugs is considered illegal and every country that is a member of the United Nations has the responsibility to seriously fight against this phenomenon.
