RASC News Agency: The security officials of the Taliban group in Kapisa province announced the arrest of 132 people on charges of involvement in drug trafficking and selling in this province.
On Wednesday, August 16, the security command of the Taliban group said that these people were arrested and 32 kilograms of drugs were also set on fire.
In a published announcement, it is stated that the narcotics that were set on fire in this province included methamphetamine, marijuana, heroin, and narcotic tablets that were discovered and confiscated from sellers and smugglers in different regions of the country during the past year.
Officials in this province have emphasized that with the arrest of these people, the amount of drug sales in this province has decreased.
According to the published announcement, these drugs were set on fire in the plain of “Kara Taz” with the presence of a mixed team.
This is despite the fact that the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) warned about the increase in drug cultivation and production in Afghanistan by publishing a report.
According to this organization, Afghanistan has become one of the major producers of methamphetamine in the region.
Meanwhile, an Iranian official said a while ago that the presence of the Taliban group has increased the production and trafficking of industrial and traditional drugs, although temporary decisions have been made in some areas. Overall, according to the official statistics of the United Nations, the increase in production we have seen it in this country in the field of drugs.
This is despite the fact that the Taliban group has repeatedly claimed that the cultivation and production of drugs in Afghanistan has decreased under the control of this group, but the findings of this organization indicate that the production of methamphetamine in this country has increased, which can cause the production of industrial drugs from which various actors will benefit
