RASC News Agency: Afghanistan Security Watch reports that 37 security incidents have been documented in Afghanistan during September of the current year. This organization released its findings on the country’s security events for September on Friday, October 5. According to the report, out of the 37 security incidents, 25 were attributed to the Resistance Front, seven to the Freedom Front, two to ISIS, and one to the People’s Authority Front. Additionally, the report noted the occurrence of two incidents in Takhar and Badghis provinces targeting the Taliban, attributed to unidentified perpetrators.
The report’s findings indicate that the number of incidents claimed by anti-Taliban fronts is three more than those recorded in August. However, the number of incidents verified by independent sources is significantly lower. Afghanistan Security Watch further stated: “Of the 37 incidents, only five were confirmed to be carried out by the Resistance Front, six by the Freedom Front, two by ISIS, and two incidents attributed to unknown factors, based on published documents and existing reports from independent sources.”
The organization noted that during this month, two bombing attacks in Takhar province resulted in civilian casualties. The first attack occurred on September 4, carried out by the National Resistance Front, injuring three civilians alongside the Taliban. The second attack, which occurred on September 20, resulted in the deaths of four Taliban fighters and injuries to four civilians, with no group claiming responsibility for this incident.
As of now, the anti-Taliban fronts have not publicly commented on this report. The findings from Afghanistan Security Watch emerge amid ongoing Taliban claims of maintaining comprehensive security across the country. On September 18, the United Nations also published a report stating that from May 14 to July 31 of this year, it recorded 2,127 security incidents in the country.
