RASC News Agency: Gordon Brown, the former British Prime Minister, says that the beliefs of the Taliban group should always be challenged.
According to him, the beliefs of the Taliban group should not be seen as a difference of opinion, but the religious beliefs and views of this group should be questioned on various issues.
He requested the Islamic countries to send a delegation to Kandahar to convince the leaders of the Taliban group regarding the reopening of schools for Afghanistani girls.
Gordon Brown’s statements regarding the Taliban’s treatment of women and girls this week have become an important issue for the media and have attracted their attention.
Brown is the representative of the United Nations in education affairs. On August 10, he said that the behavior of the Taliban group towards women is a “crime against humanity” and asked the International Criminal Court to prosecute the officials responsible for the Taliban group.
In an interview with the Arab News website on Wednesday, August 16, Brown said that the ideological views of the Taliban group should be challenged “directly” because, in his opinion, these views are not rooted in the “Qur’an and the religion of Islam”.
Brown makes these statements while the Taliban group says that the reopening of girls’ schools is an internal issue and has nothing to do with other countries.
The behavior and actions of the Taliban group against Afghanistani women and girls have always faced reactions from the United Nations and the countries of the world, but this group has not shown any flexibility in this regard.
