RASC: The Ministry of Amr Bil Maruf of the Taliban group has announced that the agents of the Ministry participated in a wedding ceremony in Ghazni and prevented the music from playing in this wedding.
Also, the ministry added in another statement that its agents collected musical instruments from a wedding ceremony in Delaram district of Nimroz and prevented them from playing.
In a statement published on Saturday, July 29, the ministry said that its officers “gave a religious sermon about the illegality of music” to hundreds of participants of this event.
In the statement, it is mentioned that the officers of Amr Bil Maruf monitored amusement parks, shops and those who were listening to music and gave them recommendations.
Also, the ministry said in a separate statement that its agents warned people in the Nimroz that “playing and listening to music is prohibited” and that people who violate will be “legally dealt with“.
The ministry said that citizens should hold weddings according to “Islamic and Afghanistan culture“.
Some time ago, reports from Herat province and Kabul state that the Taliban group collects money from the owners of the wedding ceremonies in coordination with the hall owners in order to allow the music to be played.
At the same time, this group is known to collect musical instruments and ban their playing in different provinces of the country.
In the past two years, the Taliban group has imposed extensive restrictions on various areas of social life of citizens.
