RASC: John Kirby, the spokesperson of the National Security Council of the White House, in response to the claim of the Pakistani government that Afghanistani citizens are involved in terrorist attacks on Pakistan’s territory, rejected Pakistan’s claim and said that they are not involved in these attacks.
Reuters reported on Monday, July 17, that John Kirby said in a press conference that at the moment there is no document regarding the holding of Afghanistani refugees in Pakistan or in the border areas of that country, in relation to terrorist acts.
He clarified: “We do not see any signs that Afghanistani refugees have carried out terrorist attacks inside Pakistan or in the border areas of this country.”
The spokesman of the National Security Council of the White House thanked Pakistan for providing shelter to Afghanistani immigrants and added that these people are trying to reach a safe and secure place.
Earlier, the Pakistani army said that a number of Afghanistanis were accused of carrying out terrorist attacks inside Pakistan.
The Pakistani army claimed in a statement on Friday, July 14, that the participation of a number of Afghanistani citizens in “terrorist activities” inside Pakistan has become a deep and serious concern for the country’s army.
This is despite the fact that not long ago, the Afghanistan Taliban group provoked a wide wave of reaction by transferring the Pakistani Taliban in the northern regions.
