RASC: Khawaja Mohammad Asif, the Minister of Defense of Pakistan, in response to the words of Zabiullah Mujahid, who stated that the Taliban group signed the Doha Agreement with the United States and has a different approach to Pakistan, said that Pakistan will be able to fight terrorism regardless of the position and role of the Taliban group.
The statements attributed to Mujahid have been published in the media. He has spoken of a different approach to the Pakistani government.
In this case, a user wrote that this favor of the Taliban group means that this group suppresses only a number of opponents, not all, based on the Doha agreement.
Khawaja Muhammad Asif retweeted this user’s tweet and said: “Regardless of Afghanistan’s position, Pakistan is determined to eradicate terrorism from its ground, in any form.”
He emphasized that it does not matter to Pakistan whether Kabul has the will to contain the militants from within its borders or not, but this country will fight to eradicate terrorism.
Khawaja Mohammad Asif had claimed some time ago that the presence of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) fighters in Afghanistan shows that the Afghanistani Taliban group does not adhere to the Doha Agreement.
He wrote in a tweet that the Taliban group does not fulfill the right of neighborliness and brotherhood of that country, nor is it bound by the Doha Agreement.
He added: “While Pakistan has been hosting around 50,000 to 60,000 Afghanistani citizens with full refugee rights for nearly 40 to 50 years, the Taliban group, on the contrary, is sheltering the terrorists who take the lives of Pakistanis in Afghanistan.”
It should be mentioned that following the recent attacks in this country, the Pakistani army had warned against the intervention of Afghanistani citizens in terrorist attacks in Pakistan.
In a statement issued by the Pakistan Army on Friday, the country expressed its deep concerns about the sanctuaries and freedom of movement of members of the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) in Afghanistan.
