RASC: According to public sources in Faryab province, three people were killed and three others were injured as a result of the explosion of a mine ring in Khowaja  Sabzposh district of this province.

Sources say that this incident happened yesterday, Sunday, July 2, while children were playing inside a yard in “Shabakhto” area in Khowaja Sabzposh district.

Mohammad Youssef, one of the relatives of the victims of this explosion, said that in this incident, a 17-year-old girl and two children aged seven to 10 years were killed and three children aged seven, eight and 10 were injured.

He says that this mine was left inside the yard from the past and they were unaware of its existence.

According to sources, the health condition of the injured are critical and they have been transferred to Balkh province for treatment.

The explosion of mines and ammunition left over from the war kills number of citizens and injures number of them every year.

It should be noted that Afghanistan is one of the most polluted countries in terms of having embedded mines and explosive ammunition left over from the war, due to the twenty years of war between the government and the Taliban group.

It should be noted that in addition to Faryab province, other provinces of the country have also witnessed such incidents and mines left over from the war have killed citizens, especially children.

In a similar incident, a shopkeeper in Maidan Wardak province died after a mortar shell exploded inside his shop while he was busy moving things.
