RASC: The World Food Program has announced that the organization’s budget to help the people of Afghanistan will run out by the end of October, which is three months from now.

Hsiao Wei Li, one of the managers of this program, told Reuters on June 30, that the assistance of this organization for five million people will continue for a few months.

“But on top of that, we lack resources, which I think shows the urgency of our situation,” he added.

Cuts in WFP aid have added to the financial challenges for aid agencies in Afghanistan, where the United Nations has described it as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

According to WFP, August will be the start of aid cuts, and it will taper off in September and run out in October, three months from now.

It should be mentioned that before this, as the Taliban group’s restrictions on women became more severe, UN officials had warned about reducing the organization’s budget for Afghanistan.

According to the report of the World Food Program, nearly 15 million Afghanistani citizens are in need of assistance.

Mrs. Lee said that the World Food Program needs a billion dollar budget to provide food aid from now until March of next year.

She said that if the budget of the World Food Program ends by October, according to the forecasts, the organization will stay in Afghanistan and continue its other work such as nutrition projects.
