RASC: The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Aid (OCHA) has announced that it has provided assistance to 17.3 million Afghanistani people in need since the beginning of this year.
In its report today, Sunday, June 18, this department mentioned that 15.8 million people have directly received assistance from the aid agencies.
The report states: “Humanitarian partners in Afghanistan 15.6 million tons in the food sector, 5.4 million tons in the health care sector, 2.4 million children and pregnant and lactating women with support for malnutrition, 4.6 million Ton with clean water donations and 197,900 children have benefited from these donations.”
Based on this report, so far 325,400 people have been helped in the creation of emergency shelters and household items.
This institution says that the budget of these aids, which amounts to 850 million dollars, was transferred from last year.
OCHA mentioned that nearly eight million needy people have been deprived of receiving emergency aid in Afghanistan due to the lack of funds in 2023.
It should be mentioned that earlier this organization mentioned that the number of needy people in Afghanistan has increased from 28.3 million tons to 28.8 million tons.
