RASC: According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the number of refugees in the world reaches more than 110 million.

According to this organization, 5.7 million displaced people are Afghanistani citizens.

In the report of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees published today (Wednesday, June 14), it is stated that at the end of last year (2022), 108.4 million people around the world due to persecution, conflict, violence, violations of Human rights and natural disasters have forced displacement.

According to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the number of refugees worldwide increased from 27.1 million in 2021 to 35.3 million by the end of 2022, the highest annual increase yet recorded.

According to this organization, more than one out of every 74 people on earth has been forced to flee.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees says Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 has created the fastest-growing displacement crisis and one of the most widespread since World War II.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees adds that in general, 52% of all refugees and other people in need of international support are in the countries of Syria with 6.5 million refugees, Ukraine and Afghanistan with 5.7 million each. .

In Afghanistan, the domination of the Taliban in the country in August 2021 led to a large-scale migration of the country’s citizens, the destination of many of whom were the neighboring countries of Afghanistan, including Iran and Pakistan.
