RASC: Local sources told RASC News Agency that the Kochis have clashed with the residents of Shik Ali’s Shangarian valley for grazing field and that the Taliban have supported the Kochis.
People’s sources add that in May 27, when the Kochis entered the Shangarian Valley with their cattle, the local people prevented the Kochis from entering this valley, so a conflict occurred between the local people and the Kochis.
After that conflict, the Kochis returned to the Shangarian Valley with the support of the armed Taliban, attacked the people’s fields, entered the houses of some residents, including the house of teacher Noorullah, harassed the local people and took the teacher Noorullah with them. The Taliban currently imprisons this teacher.
The Kochis did not just go to the Shangarian valley to graze their cattle, but they claim that part of the land in this valley is their property.
The conflict between the Kochis and the local people, especially between the Pashtun and Hazara people, is a historical conflict since the time of Abdul Rahman. The Pashtun Kochis know the grasslands of the Hazara areas and they flock to the Hazara areas every year with thousands of cattle, feed the grass and fields of the Hazaras to their cattle, and harass the local people as well.
