RASC: In continuation of the verbal tensions between the Iranian authorities and the Taliban group over water rights, a right-wing Iranian media called for the recapture of the Afghanistan embassy in Tehran from the Taliban group.

The newspaper “Islamic Republic” wrote in a note today, Sunday, May 21, that Iran should “take back the Afghanistan embassy from the Taliban”.

Referring to the verbal conflict between Tehran and Kabul over the water rights of the Helmand River, this Tehran newspaper wrote in its today’s issue: “Take back the Afghan embassy from them.”

This newspaper added that “Taliban group wants to involve Iran in war”.

The newspaper of the Islamic Republic further wrote: “Creating insecurity in the region, especially bringing the Islamic Republic of Iran into a military conflict, is the mission of the Taliban terrorist group on behalf of the United States.”

This newspaper further claimed, “The basic philosophy of the Doha Agreement, which was implemented on (Assad) 1400 ( Afghanistan calendar) with the removal of Ashraf Ghani by the United States and the establishment of the Taliban group in Kabul, was that Afghanistan under the rule of the Taliban group became a terrorist law. Finally, the Islamic Republic of Iran will be caught in the swamp of war and instability by entering into a military conflict in the eastern borders.

This is despite the fact that the verbal tensions between the Taliban group and Tehran have recently increased over Water rights.

Simultaneously with the increase of verbal tensions between the officials of the two countries over the water rights of Helmand and the escalation of tension on the borders of Iran and Afghanistan. Ministry of Defense of the Taliban group announced yesterday by publishing a statement that a delegation from Iran to the Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces has arrived in Kabul. .

Bahram Hosseini Motlaq; The Deputy General Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces traveled to Kabul at the head of a delegation from the Islamic Republic and met with the Taliban group.

The water treaty between Afghanistan and Iran in 1351 between Musa Shafiq and Amir Abbas Hoyda; The then Prime Ministers of the two countries signed an agreement according to which millions of cubic meters of water will be allocated to Iran every year if Helmand’s water is sufficient.
