RASC: Mohammad Bin Abdulrahman Al Sani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, says that he also discussed the developments in Afghanistan during his meeting with German Foreign Minister Analena Berbuk.
On Wednesday, May 17, in a joint press conference with the German Foreign Minister, he said: “The two sides have emphasized the necessity of continuing the cooperation of the international community with the people of Afghanistan and respecting human rights, especially women’s rights, and providing education for girls.”
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Qatar says that Analena Berbuk has thanked Doha for its cooperation in Afghanistan.
After the rule of the Taliban group, Qatar has acted as a mediator between this group and Western countries. Doha has a close relationship with the Taliban.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar recently traveled to Kandahar province and met with the leaders of the Taliban group.
Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson of the Taliban group, says that during the meeting of the Qatari delegation with Mullah Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the prime minister of this group, they discussed strengthening bilateral relations, raising the level of trust between Afghanistan and Qatar, and practical cooperation in education, health and economy.
