RASC News Agency: Mohammad Mohqiq, leader of the Islamic Unity Party of the People of Afghanistan and a senior member of the Supreme Council of National Resistance for the Salvation of Afghanistan, has issued a sharply worded response to recent comments by Rahmatullah Nabil in an interview with Deutsche Welle. He accused Nabil of “political deflection,” “intelligence dependency,” and distorting Afghanistan’s political realities, opening his response with the phrase: “You grew old, but never became a leader.”

In a detailed statement published on his official Facebook page, Mohqiq said Nabil had taken a stance against him and circulated “certain propaganda,” which he said required clarification.

Responding to Nabil’s accusation that he had made a “deal with a southern neighboring country,” Mohqiq wrote:

“Mr. Nabil has relied on social media rumors and accusations, claiming I made a deal with a southern neighboring country. I must say, backdoor deals are typically the work of security and intelligence actors like himself, not mine, as I have never worked in that field.”

Mohqiq further claimed that Nabil was projecting his own behavior onto others, alleging that the former intelligence chief himself is now involved in “deals with the intelligence services of a major regional power.”

He emphasized that until Afghanistan’s crisis and the Taliban issue are resolved, the Supreme Council of National Resistance and the Islamic Unity Party described by him as “an influential party over the past four decades” continue ongoing consultations with regional and global actors involved in Afghanistan’s future.

According to him, these contacts include “all possible avenues,” from political negotiations to field-level engagements, which he described as a legitimate right of opposition forces rather than secret deals.

Mohqiq also responded to Nabil’s criticism regarding his message to Pakistan’s army chief, General Asim Munir, and his praise of Munir’s role in mediation efforts between Iran and the United States.

He stated:

“All decision-making centers in the region and the world know that I am a Muslim Mujahid and a Shia Hazara. My position regarding the unprecedented crimes and genocide committed by Joe Biden, Donald Trump, and Netanyahu against Muslims in Palestine, Gaza, and Lebanon is clear I strongly oppose them.”

He added that opposition to the war in Gaza and Israeli policies is not only his personal view but also the position of the United Nations and “all free-thinking nations of the world.”

Mohqiq described the US and Israeli strikes against Iran as “illegal and excessive aggression,” arguing that such actions have created serious security and economic crises globally.

He praised Pakistani officials, including Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir, for their efforts in mediating a ceasefire and potential peace agreement between Tehran and Washington, calling it “commendable for every Muslim.”

Mohqiq sharply criticized Nabil, stating:

“If Mr. Nabil enjoys the killing of more than 70,000 Muslim men, women, and children in Palestine, Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, that is his moral choice.”

He further alleged that Nabil has always operated within “US intelligence circles” and, during the republic era, cooperated with occupying forces, contributing to the arrest or transfer of Afghanistani citizens to Guantanamo Bay.

According to Mohqiq, such affiliations have made Nabil indifferent to global injustices:

“He is accustomed to serving enemies; therefore, he shows no sensitivity to crimes committed by them anywhere in the world whether in Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, or Iran.”

He contrasted this by stating that he himself is not indifferent to civilian deaths in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, saying: “My conscience is deeply affected by the killing of children in Gaza and schools in Iran and southern Lebanon.”

In another section, Mohqiq referred to Nabil’s remarks about Iran’s opposition to certain Afghanistani political figures traveling to Pakistan. He said opposition groups take into account the concerns of Iran and Turkey and avoid actions that could harm these countries.

He added that they prefer a political solution to Afghanistan’s crisis, with Iran and Turkey also playing facilitation roles. However, he warned that if the Taliban continue their “rigidity and stubbornness,” and peaceful solutions fail, the opposition reserves the right to consider “all possible options.”

Mohqiq concluded by reiterating that Nabil is engaged in “propaganda and intelligence narratives,” and insisted that contacts with regional actors are part of legitimate political efforts, not covert deals.

He maintained that Afghanistan’s political future cannot be decided in isolation and that engagement with regional powers is essential for any sustainable solution to the ongoing crisis.
