RASC: Students of Panjshir University say that the Ministry of Education of the Taliban group has turned the dormitory building of this university into a “jihadi school” and they have been told to vacate the dormitory.

These students, whose number reaches more than 300, are worried about this order and say that if another place is not considered for them, they will have to leave the university.

Students claim that they cannot afford the room rent.

Shafiqullah, a student of Panjshir University, said: “When we vacate the dormitory, the students will have economic problems. They cannot rent a room. They may even give up their studies.”

Aminullah Ahmadyar, another student, says: “We have students who are forced to drop their studies if they cannot get a dormitory.”

According to the students, more than 300 students live in this dormitory.

These students ask the Ministry of Higher Education to consider another place for them.

Ruki, the student representative of Panjshir University, said: “Al-Jihadiya School has been opened and it has been written that you should evacuate this [dormitory]. We no longer have a place for students to transfer them to.”

Ezzatullah, another student, says: “Students’ economy is very weak and they cannot rent a room.”

Meanwhile, the president of Panjshir University says that the Ministry of Higher Education has considered an alternative place for students.

Mustafa Abu Saeed, president of Panjshir University, said: “Either the repair will be fixed or the rent will be fixed, whatever the system is, the Ministry of Higher Education has shouldered this, God willing, and the fate of our students will be fixed, God willing.”

Panjshir University is located in the “Dashtek” region of this province, and there is no other place for permanent residence around this university.
