RASC: Rasul Parsi’s wife, a university professor, requested his release as soon as possible from the prison of the Taliban group. Nargis Mohammadi said that she has approached the authorities of the Taliban several times for the release of her husband.

She says that the Taliban group has not yet given any explanation about Rasul Parsi’s accusation.

The Taliban arrested Rasul Parsi, a university professor and expert on religious affairs, at the beginning of this year.

Rasul Pasrsi openly criticized extremism and violence on social networks. His wife says that Rasul Parsi is now in the Taliban prison in Kabul province.

Nargis Mohammadi said that after Parsi’s arrest, she faced many problems; including the fact that their young daughter missed school and she fell ill.

She talked about the economic problems and expressed her hope that Rasul Parsi will return to the family center as soon as possible.

Nargis Mohammadi, who has managed to meet her husband several times, said, according to Rasul Parsi, “He is waiting for the decision of the Taliban group’s court.”

The Taliban group has not yet explained about the arrest of Rasul Parsi. The officials of this group told his wife: wait, if he is released, you will be contacted to “bring a guarantor.”

Social media users recently launched a campaign for the release of Rasul Parsi. They also asked international institutions and human rights organizations to talk with the Taliban group for the release of this university professor.

Rina Amiri, the US special representative for Afghan women, said in response to Rasul Parsi’s arrest: “It will not work to silence the voices of heroes who reflect the voice of the nation.”
