RASC: The novel “Charm Beyond the Vineyard”, by Khatira Toghra, a young Afghanistani writer, was unveiled in Canada.

The novel “Charm Beyond the Vineyard” was unveiled on Thursday, May 11, with the presence of a number of Canadian writers in the city of Toronto, and its English version is scheduled to be published by the end of next month.

As its author says, this novel is a psychological portrait of a large family accused of religious extremism.

“I want Western readers to understand that Afghanistan men and women are human beings with unique characters, not the stereotypes they see in Hollywood movies,” Khatira Toghra said.

Canadian novelist Kathryn Govier called the novel “a deeply worrying, deeply terrifying and utterly believable narrative.”

Khatira Toghra started writing this work in 2018.
