RASC: In an open letter, twenty-one civil organizations of Khorasan/Afghanistan asked the world leaders to hold the officials of the Taliban group accountable for the crimes they commit against the people, especially Afghan women.

The authors of the letter have emphasized that the members accused of Taliban crimes should be brought to court through the International Criminal Court.

In a letter published on Sunday on the eve of the Doha meeting on Khorasan/Afghanistan, it is stated that it should be ensured that Afghan women are meaningfully present in all the discussions, meetings and conferences held on the future of Khorasan/Afghanistan.

The two-day Doha meeting on Khorasan/Afghanistan is scheduled to be held this Monday evening, May 1, with the presence of the UN Secretary General in Doha, the capital of Qatar.

In the letter of the Afghan civil organizations addressed to the world leaders and the UN Secretary General, it is said to ensure that the women who are invited to the international gatherings, including the protest leaders, civil society members and women in exile.

The authors of the letter also emphasized that the invited women should represent a large part of the society of Khorasan/Afghanistan, including protestor leaders, civil society members and women in exile.

The text of the letter states: “These representatives should be allowed to deliver strong, uncensored messages about the brutal reality facing women and girls under Taliban rule at meetings.”

The civil institutions of Khorasan/Afghanistan have said that “past experience shows that surrendering to the will of such regimes only strengthens their power and prolongs the suffering of the people of Khorasan/Afghanistan.”
