RASC News Agency: Abdullah Abdullah, former chairman of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation, has issued a statement strongly condemning Israel’s recent military operation on Iranian soil, describing it as a “blatant and unlawful act of aggression” and a “clear violation of international law and human rights.” In an official statement released on Friday, Abdullah characterized the strike as an unjustified use of force, asserting that it reflects what he described as the “expansionist and confrontational policies” of the Israeli government.
He further warned that such military actions risk undermining ongoing diplomatic efforts between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Western powers. “These attacks not only threaten the progress of negotiations but also signal a deliberate effort to escalate tensions in an already volatile region,” he stated. Highlighting the humanitarian situation in Gaza, where civilians have lived under siege for nearly two years, Abdullah said the recent military action reinforces perceptions of instability and highlights the urgency of addressing regional conflicts through diplomatic channels. “In light of the dire humanitarian conditions in Gaza, such acts serve only to deepen public concern over regional security,” he added.
Addressing the broader international community, Abdullah called on multilateral institutions such as the United Nations, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, and independent global governments to adopt a firm stance. He urged these bodies to “abandon positions of silence or neutrality” and respond to what he described as “overt violations of international norms.” Abdullah concluded by emphasizing that only coordinated and decisive action from the international community can help prevent the recurrence of such incidents, and ensure the protection of regional and global stability.
