RASC News Agency: Pakistan’s Counter-Terrorism Department has reported the arrest of a suicide bomber trained in Afghanistan. In a statement, the department confirmed the capture of Shamsullah, a suicide bomber trained under the Taliban’s guidance, in the Burki area of Lahore. According to the statement, preliminary investigations revealed that Shamsullah was trained in Afghanistan under the direction of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar commanders, and later entered Pakistan through the Chaman border.
The statement further revealed that 11 individuals suspected of involvement in terrorist activities were detained during 166 intelligence operations in Sargodha, Rawalpindi, Pakpattan, Gujrat, Chakwal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, and Faisalabad. The names of the detained individuals, including Haider Sultan, Wali Rahman, Zubair, Amin, Akbar, Maqsood Khan, Zafar Iqbal, Ibrahim Qasemi, Mahibullah, and Saddam Hussain, have been released by the government. During their arrests, authorities seized explosives, detonators, and cash. In his confession, Shamsullah revealed that he had undergone training in Afghanistan under the supervision of Suleiman and Qasim Khurasani, two prominent commanders of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar. He was allegedly dispatched to Pakistan to carry out suicide bombings.
Pakistan has identified Qasim Khurasani as a senior leader of Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, involved in orchestrating and executing numerous attacks. Pakistani security forces have now initiated a large-scale operation to capture Ali and other members of this terrorist network. The Pakistani military emphasized that the arrests represent a significant step forward in neutralizing major security threats, with ongoing efforts to identify and dismantle these terrorist cells. Pakistan previously claimed that suicide bombers trained in Afghanistan under the Taliban’s supervision were crossing into Pakistan to carry out attacks.
