According to these sources, hospitals across the province receive a constant flow of bodies, including teenagers, young men, and the elderly, all bearing signs of extreme violence. Fawad (a pseudonym) told RASC News on Sunday, March 16, that numerous innocent individuals are being executed by the Taliban and later transferred to hospitals. After some time, hospital administrators receive directives to contact families, instructing them to retrieve their loved ones’ remains.
Reports indicate that every 24 hours, at least two to three civilian bodies arrive at hospitals, with medical examinations confirming brutal torture as the cause of death. The victims show clear signs of severe beatings and physical abuse, pointing to a systematic campaign of violence. Fawad emphasized that many of those killed had been previously detained by Taliban forces. Survivors who have endured Taliban torture recount horrifying experiences, describing treatment that violates all ethical, humanitarian, and religious principles.
These reports align with previous accounts of extrajudicial killings and widespread torture carried out by the Taliban in Panjshir. Similar acts of violence, including assassinations and systematic repression, have also been documented in other northern provinces, particularly Parwan and Kapisa, raising concerns about a broader campaign targeting northern populations. Amnesty International has previously accused the Taliban of committing war crimes in Panjshir, executing civilians, and subjecting the local population to severe mistreatment.
The latest reports indicate that just yesterday, the Taliban detained nearly 50 Panjshir residents, further escalating fears of mass arrests and ongoing repression in the region.
