Express Tribune: The Taliban Advancing India’s Strategic Agenda in Pakistan

RASC News Agency: The Express Tribune has reported that the Taliban, in collaboration with India, are engaging in activities that have intensified attacks within Pakistan. The newspaper accused both the Taliban and India of actively conspiring to undermine Pakistan’s security. Citing the recent deadly train attack in Balochistan, the report alleges that the Taliban are working in alignment with India’s broader strategy to legitimize Baloch separatist movements. On Saturday, March 15, the Express Tribune published an article titled “The Kabul-Delhi Alliance,” asserting: “It is no secret that Afghanistan and India are working together to weaken and destabilize Pakistan.”

The article describes the train attack in Balochistan as a major intelligence failure, emphasizing that “the evident collusion between the Taliban and India must be exposed by Islamabad in international diplomatic forums.” Furthermore, it accuses the Taliban of actively pushing India’s geopolitical agenda in Pakistan and forging alliances with anti-state elements. The publication also criticized the international community for disregarding Pakistan’s concerns, stating: “Pakistan must investigate why its evidence regarding foreign involvement in terrorist activities is being ignored by the United Nations and global capitals.”

While Pakistan presents itself as a victim of terrorism, India and the Taliban accuse Islamabad of manipulating militant groups for strategic leverage. For decades, India has consistently labeled Pakistan as a hub and sponsor of terrorism. Similarly, the Taliban, once closely aligned with Pakistan, now accuse Islamabad of using Daesh (ISIS) as a proxy to exert influence in the region. Historically, Pakistan was one of the staunchest supporters of the Afghanistani Taliban, with some analysts even describing Islamabad as the architect of the group. However, since the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, relations between the two have significantly deteriorated, and Pakistan now positions itself as a primary victim of cross-border terrorism.

On Saturday, March 15, senior Pakistani official Hanif Abbasi declared: “Terrorists who threaten innocent lives whether inside Pakistan or those who seek refuge in Afghanistan or other countries will be relentlessly pursued.” He further claimed that many of the attacks targeting Pakistan are being orchestrated from Afghanistan’s soil. This is not the first time Pakistani authorities have accused the Taliban of sheltering anti-Pakistan militant groups. However, the Taliban have repeatedly denied these allegations, dismissing them as baseless accusations.
