RASC News Agency: Mohammad Kamal Afghan, spokesperson for the Taliban’s Ministry of Urban Development and Housing, has confirmed an explosion at the ministry’s premises, reporting that at least one person was killed in the incident. According to Kamal Afghan, the attack occurred before noon on Thursday, February 13, when a suicide bomber attempting to infiltrate the ministry’s compound was neutralized by Taliban fighters at the entrance. He stated that three others sustained injuries, while the bomber was also killed. He further asserted that the building and its surroundings remained undamaged. However, he refrained from disclosing further details regarding the attack.
As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the bombing. Earlier, sources in Kabul informed RASC News Agency of an explosion in the capital, raising further security concerns. This attack follows closely on the heels of a suicide bombing in Kunduz, where several Taliban militants and civilians were killed in an assault on a Kabul Bank branch. The intensifying wave of armed assaults against the Taliban has exacerbated fears among Afghanistan’s citizens, who increasingly question the group’s ability to ensure security. Many Afghanistani citizens assert that under Taliban rule, they have lost both psychological and physical security, living under constant threat to their lives and property.
Despite the Taliban’s persistent claims of having restored nationwide stability, the surge in violent incidents, targeted assassinations, criminal activities, and suicide bombings paints a starkly different reality one marked by deepening insecurity and a fragile, deteriorating governance structure.
