RASC News Agency: Taj Mohammad Chah-Abi, a renowned Afghanistani artist and local singer, was violently attacked on January 10, in Shiraz, Iran. Six individuals of Afghan (Pashtun) origin assaulted him with knives, leaving him severely injured, particularly in the head. In an exclusive phone interview with RASC News Agency, Chah-Abi confirmed the attack and revealed that he had been hospitalized for six days due to the severity of his injuries. Speaking about the incident and his recovery, Chah-Abi said, “My health is now stable. Throughout my life, I have never harbored enmity towards anyone. My sole mission has always been to serve my culture and my people through my art. Unfortunately, those who are enemies of this culture and my people sought to eliminate me.”
The artist attributed the attack to his unwavering defense of Persian culture and civilization. “As long as I breathe,” he declared, “I will use my voice and my craft to stand for the heritage, culture, and identity of the Persian language and the Tajik people.” These remarks come amidst earlier reports by some media outlets, which had described his health condition as critical. Chah-Abi, an influential figure among Afghanistan’s Tajik and Persian-speaking communities, has long championed cultural unity, justice, equality, and the promotion of peace through his music.
