RASC News Agency: Media sources in Badakhshan have reported that the Taliban group has initiated a comprehensive search operation, going from house to house in the province. Fasihuddin Fitrat, the chief of the Taliban group’s army staff, ordered the operation, which began in Faizabad city, the center of Badakhshan province. The catalyst for this endeavor was a rocket attack on the residence of Qari Wasil, the commander of the Taliban group in the province, which has incited the anger of the local population.
According to reliable sources in Badakhshan, the Taliban group’s conduct during the house-to-house searches has been highly inappropriate and disturbing. The search operation encompasses approximately 115 houses surrounding the security command center of the group in Faizabad city, including the guesthouse of the provincial governor, which serves as the residence for armed members of the group. The motive behind this operation is Qari Wasil’s accusation that the governor of the Taliban group orchestrated the rocket attack, prompting the initiation of the house-to-house effort.
It is worth noting that reports of similar house-to-house searches conducted by the Taliban group in various provinces of the country have previously surfaced in the media. The group has consistently justified these searches by claiming that they are aimed at confiscating unauthorized weapons. However, it is important to highlight that despite their claims of collecting illegal weapons over the past two years, incidents of murder and armed robbery continue to be reported in different provinces of the country.
