RASC News Agency: The human rights organization Haalvsh has reported the deaths of two Afghanistani migrants in a mine explosion near the Kalgan border area in Saravan County, Iran. According to Haalvsh, the two migrants lost their lives when they stepped on a landmine planted by Iranian border forces in the Kalgan region. The organization claims that, on the morning of Friday, a group of Afghanistani nationals attempted to cross into Iran through the Kalgan border. While crossing, they triggered a mine, causing an explosion that resulted in the immediate deaths of two individuals.
Halvash stated that the victims were residents of Buriabaf Qabchaq village in the Zarghun District of Herat Province. This incident is not the first time Halvash has reported violence against Afghanistani migrants at the Iran-Afghanistan border. On October 16 of this year, the organization released a report alleging that around 300 Afghanistani migrants, attempting to cross the Kalgan border into Iran, were caught in a premeditated ambush by Iranian military forces. Eyewitness accounts and images published by the organization indicated that 260 migrants were killed in the attack. However, Iranian authorities denied the allegations, dismissing the published images as fraudulent.
Initially, the Taliban also denied the incident, but later confirmed its occurrence, although they claimed that the number of casualties was far lower than the reports suggested. The recurring nature of such incidents has raised significant concerns regarding the safety of Afghanistani migrants and the conduct of border forces in the region.
