Freedom Front: The Taliban Implements Gender Apartheid in Its Most Extreme Form in Afghanistan

RASC News Agency: The Afghanistan Freedom Front has condemned the Taliban for enforcing “gender apartheid” in Afghanistan at an unprecedented and extreme level. In a statement issued on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and the launch of the 16-day global campaign against gender-based violence, the Front underscored that, over the past three years, the Taliban has institutionalized this form of oppression across the country.

The statement, published on Tuesday, November 26, emphasized that “gender apartheid” has become the hallmark of the so-called Taliban Emirate on the global stage. The Freedom Front described the Taliban’s actions as deeply alarming, highlighting their devastating impact on Afghanistan’s future, particularly on women and girls. The Freedom Front expressed profound respect and unwavering solidarity with the persistent, meaningful, and courageous struggles of Afghanistani women and girls. It pledged its full commitment to supporting their fight and reiterated its determination to oppose and dismantle the Taliban’s oppressive and misogynistic regime. The Front affirmed that it would spare no effort in overthrowing the Taliban’s reign of tyranny.

Additionally, the Freedom Front voiced its grave concerns over covert attempts to whitewash the Taliban’s atrocities and the lobbying efforts aimed at fostering increased engagement and compromise with the group. The Front warned of the dire repercussions of legitimizing the “terrorist Taliban group,” cautioning that such actions would pose significant threats to regional and global security and stability. Since seizing power in Afghanistan, the Taliban has imposed draconian restrictions, particularly targeting women. The regime has banned women from education, employment, and public life, systematically stripping them of their fundamental rights and freedoms.
