Afghanistan Freedom Front Accuses Taliban Of Baghlan Sufi Attack

RASC News Agency :The Afghanistan Freedom Front has strongly condemned the recent attack on Sufi followers in Baghlan, asserting that the Taliban is the primary perpetrator behind such “gruesome” acts across the country. In a statement released on Saturday, November 23, via the social media platform X, the Front claimed that over the past three years, the Taliban has systematically targeted followers of various Islamic sects, including factions within Sunni Islam, who oppose their extremist doctrine.

The Liberation Front emphasized that Sufism and mysticism are integral to Afghanistan’s cultural and historical fabric. The statement declared: “For the past three years, the Taliban has consistently attempted to manipulate public opinion by pledging investigations into such incidents. However, the deeply entrenched ties among terrorist factions operating under the Taliban’s emirate render even minimal accountability or transparency regarding the targeted killings of ideological and sectarian adversaries virtually impossible.”

According to the Front, the slaughter of Sufi adherents is a continuation of the Taliban’s broader agenda, which includes the systematic persecution of Shia Muslims and other Sunni sects. The statement highlighted the role of the Taliban, ISIS, al-Qaeda, and their regional allies in orchestrating such coordinated campaigns of violence. The Liberation Front urged the international community to fulfill its moral and legal obligations to protect human rights and uphold the dignity of the Afghanistani people and the region as a whole.

This development follows an incident two days ago when masked gunmen brutally executed 12 individuals at the shrine of Sayed Padshah in the ancient city of Nahrin, located in Baghlan province. The Taliban has confirmed the deaths of 10 victims in the attack and claimed to have apprehended several suspects allegedly involved.

As of now, no group has claimed responsibility for the massacre.
