RASC News Agency: Local sources in Laghman province report that a tribal elder has been killed under mysterious circumstances. According to these sources, the elder, identified as Abdul Ghafour, was ambushed and shot by armed assailants on the evening of Friday, November 8, while he was returning to his home in the Qala Bai area of Ali sheng district. His body was found hours after the incident, but the motives and identities of his killers remain unknown.
This incident marks the third killing in Qala Bai within the past two weeks. Previously, two Taliban fighters were reportedly killed in the area by unidentified gunmen, heightening local concerns over the worsening security situation. Simultaneously, sources in Nangarhar reported the killing of a shopkeeper following a dispute. The shooting occurred in the “Gulayi Arabha” area of Jalalabad’s third district. The motive for the argument remains unclear.
Taliban security officials in Nangarhar have confirmed the arrest of the alleged shooter at the Torkham border, stating that the suspect was attempting to flee to Pakistan when detained. Reports of targeted killings and the discovery of unidentified bodies are emerging daily from various provinces. Just yesterday, it was reported that a Taliban fighter was killed in Laghman, while the body of a driver was found in Takhar province.
A significant number of these murders have been attributed to unidentified assailants, whose motives and affiliations remain a mystery, casting a shadow of uncertainty over the nation.
