RASC News Agency: Local sources in Daikundi report that Taliban officials from the Department for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice are compelling residents to strictly abide by the newly instituted “Vice and Virtue” law. According to reports on Monday, November 4, Taliban authorities warned Daykundi residents in both central and district areas that any non-compliance would result in “punishment.”
Sources indicate that, over recent days, the Taliban have held several meetings with religious scholars and community leaders, emphasizing that locals are expected to incorporate this mandate into their daily lives. Across Afghanistan, the Taliban have established committees in each province to enforce this contentious law, recently ratified by the group’s supreme leader. The Taliban assert that this law will be mandatory for all citizens, dismissing any alternative perspectives. National and international experts have decried the Taliban’s “Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice” law as one of the harshest decrees in recent history, claiming it has transformed Afghanistan into a “graveyard” for its own people.
The law openly rejects any form of social, cultural, religious, or gender diversity, effectively reducing Afghanistan to the confines of a religious seminary. Despite strong opposition from global organizations, prominent scholars, and Islamic nations, the Taliban have disregarded these appeals, continuing to impose this restrictive law with unyielding force.
