Taliban Initiate Training on New Law for Government Employees

RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s provincial office in Daikundi has announced the commencement of training sessions for the law of “Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice” aimed at employees of their governmental institutions. The Taliban in Daikundi emphasize that this educational initiative will continue uninterrupted.

This so-called “Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice” law has elicited vehement domestic and international backlash. The legislation not only neglects to recognize the Islamic right to education for girls but also prohibits women’s voices and their visibility in public spaces. Under this law, the presence of women’s voices in environments where men are present is deemed “haram” (forbidden).

In a recent statement, Khalid Hanafi, the Taliban’s Minister of Promotion of Virtue, asserted that the voices of adult women are “haram” and prohibited, even in the presence of other women. This declaration has prompted reactions from religious scholars, many of whom view it as a manifestation of extremist interpretations of Islam.

The Taliban’s establishment of the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and Prevention of Vice has effectively transformed life for the Afghanistani people into a living hell. Officials within this institution, operating under the direct command of the Taliban’s elusive leader, demonstrate a blatant disregard for the Afghanistani populace and the international community. They impose predominantly Pashtun and tribal laws under the guise of Islam and Sharia, indifferent to the potential disrepute of Islam and the future isolation of this faith in Afghanistan.
