RASC News Agency: An Afghanistani girl has successfully gained membership in the General Medical Council (GMC) of the United Kingdom after fleeing her homeland. Dr. Nooroujha Ahmadi attained this significant milestone by passing three international examinations OET, PLAB1, and PLAB2, after seeking asylum in the UK.
In an interview with the media, Dr. Ahmadi stated, “After considerable hard work and perseverance, I have managed to achieve this honor for Afghanistan by successfully completing these three examinations.” She views her entry into the UK medical community, especially her GMC membership, as a reflection of her dedication and a source of pride for her country. Dr. Nooroujha Ahmadi completed her education in India and at the Afghanistan-Swiss University and has held key positions in various international organizations and hospitals.
She revealed that she relocated to the UK following the fall of the Republic and is currently serving Afghanistani citizens there as a young and experienced physician. Additionally, she teaches echocardiography and ultrasound techniques and is involved in several international medical research projects. In a message to the women and girls of Afghanistan, she urged them to never surrender and to “continue their educational endeavors with determination and resilience, for ease follows every hardship.”
This announcement comes at a time when girls in Afghanistan are systematically denied education, with the Taliban prohibiting them from attending school and university. Furthermore, the escalating restrictions imposed by the Taliban have plunged many women into a state of despair.
